About Us
Welcome to the Next Chapter Initiative!
We’re a student-led organization dedicated to empowering youth, supporting our community, and creating meaningful change. Through service projects, events, and leadership opportunities, we aim to inspire teens to make a positive impact — one action at a time.

Our Story
Every story has a beginning, and the Next Chapter Initiative (NCI) started with a simple idea: empower youth to take action in their communities. Founded by Martha Michael, a junior at West Park High School in Roseville, NCI began as a student-led community organization focused on inspiring teens to make a difference. Today, with a board and active members, the initiative has grown into a pending non-profit organization dedicated to service, advocacy, and youth leadership.
Our Mission
NCI’s mission is to empower young people to create positive change through service, collaboration, and leadership. We run projects that support underserved populations, educate peers about community and social issues, and provide hands-on opportunities for students to lead impactful initiatives.
What We Do
-
Community Projects: From Care Kits for Foster Youth to school supply drives, we organize initiatives that meet real community needs.
-
Youth Leadership: We give students the tools and confidence to lead projects, collaborate with organizations, and advocate for meaningful change.
-
Educational Opportunities: NCI provides workshops, events, and mentorship to help teens learn about social justice, civic engagement, and service.
Our Values
-
Empowerment: We believe every young person can make a difference.
-
Collaboration: Together with local organizations and community leaders, we maximize our impact.
-
Compassion: Every project is grounded in empathy, kindness, and respect for those we serve.
-
Leadership: We cultivate responsibility, initiative, and vision in the next generation of changemakers.
